MUN – Model United Nations
We as the 12e took part in a MUN as an alternative proof of performance for our profile seminar.
MUN is short for Model United Nations. It simulates an UN conference where each student represents a country.
The topic of our MUN conference was mitigating climate change. We each wrote a position paper where we researched
the stance of our country.
For our conference we got support from the English profile of the 13th grade, who already did it the year before.
Our conference took place at the university in Flensburg. The day was divided in three sessions and in the last one we
had one resolution we discussed, which one of us brought with him.
We talked about different subjects and learned more about the stances of each country.
During the debate you also had time to research further if you were not sure what your country thought specifically.
The start of the discussion was a bit rocky but after some time it got easier and it was nice to see that the research of your country paid off.
In the end we want to thank the 13eg and Ms. Reinmuth for their support.
